Arsenal on Course to Become England’s Richest Club

Arsenal are set to overtake Liverpool and Manchester City as the wealthiest club in England, with their performances this season driving record-breaking revenues.

The Gunners’ run to the Champions League final and their position at the top of the Premier League are expected to push them past their rivals when the next set of accounts is published.

Last season, Arsenal posted a record £691m in revenue after finishing second in the league and reaching the Champions League semi-finals.

Commercial income rose 41% to £263m, matchday revenue climbed 17% to £154m, and broadcast income increased 4% to £213m. All three streams are projected to rise again this year.

Prize money will further boost their finances. Arsenal earned £171.5m for finishing second last season, compared to Liverpool’s £174.9m as champions.

Winning the Premier League this time would increase their share, while victory in the Champions League final would add another £10m to the £122m they have already secured from reaching the semi-finals.

Success in Europe would also guarantee qualification for the 2029 FIFA Club World Cup, a tournament Chelsea earned £90m from winning last summer. Arsenal would expect a similar windfall.

Champions League prize money so far this season highlights their dominance: Arsenal lead with £122m, ahead of Liverpool (£95m), Manchester City (£84m), Chelsea (£80m), Tottenham (£73m), and Newcastle United (£57m).

Arsenal’s rise on the pitch is now matched by their financial power, putting them on course to become England’s richest club.
