Iwobi Ruled Out Again as Fulham Face Bournemouth
Fulham midfielder Alex Iwobi will miss his third consecutive Premier League match after sustaining an hamstring injury in the club’s goalless draw against Brentford.
The Nigeria international lasted just 43 minutes in that fixture and has since been ruled out by manager Marco Silva.
‘Ryan Sessegnon, Alex Iwobi, they are going to be out of the game,’ Silva confirmed during his pre-match press conference ahead of Fulham’s clash with AFC Bournemouth at Craven Cottage.
Iwobi’s absence adds to what has already been a stop-start campaign.
He previously missed six Premier League matches due to his participation at the Africa Cup of Nations between December 2025 and January 2026, and this latest setback means he will now sit out his ninth game overall this season.
Despite the interruptions, the 30-year-old has been a key figure for Fulham, starting all 27 league matches he has featured in.
He has contributed four goals and three assists, underlining his importance to Silva’s side. Interestingly, Bournemouth remain one of 16 Premier League clubs against whom Iwobi has yet to score, despite facing them 12 times since making his debut in October 2015.
Fulham will hope to cope without his creativity as they look to secure points against the Cherries, with Silva’s men aiming to finish the season strongly despite injury setbacks.
