Omanyala Replaces Thompson in Shanghai/Keqiao Diamond League 100m
The men’s 100m at the Shanghai/Keqiao Diamond League has taken on added intrigue with Kenya’s Ferdinand Omanyala confirmed as a late replacement for Jamaica’s Kishane Thompson.
Omanyala’s inclusion strengthens the African contingent, as he lines up alongside Botswana’s Letsile Tebogo, the reigning Olympic 200m champion, South Africa’s Akani Simbine, and fellow South African Gift Leotlela, who boasts a personal best of 9.87.
Together, this quartet spearheads Africa’s challenge in what promises to be one of the most competitive sprint clashes of the season.
