Arsenal 1-0 Burnley: Havertz Header Puts Gunners One Win Away from First Title Since 2004

Arsenal moved to within one game of clinching the Premier League crown after a narrow 1-0 victory over Burnley at the Emirates Stadium on Monday evening.

Kai Havertz, drafted into the starting lineup in place of Viktor Gyökeres, scored the decisive goal in the first half, rising to meet Bukayo Saka’s corner and nodding past the Burnley defence.

The German forward was fortunate to avoid dismissal in the second half after a reckless challenge on Lesley Ugochukwu, but VAR deemed the incident worthy of no further punishment beyond a caution.

The result leaves Arsenal five points clear of Manchester City with just one match remaining.

Pep Guardiola’s side must beat Bournemouth on Tuesday to keep the title race alive; failure to do so would hand Arsenal their first league triumph since 2004 without the Gunners even needing to kick another ball.
