Onyah and Godbless Shine at NCAA East Regionals

Nigeria’s rising sprint stars delivered standout performances at the NCAA East Regionals, securing their places at the upcoming NCAA Championships in Eugene.

Favour Onyah produced another big personal best, clocking 50.25 seconds in the women’s 400m quarterfinal. Running against world leader Dejanea Oakley, Onyah held her form to finish second overall across all sections, with Oakley topping the charts in 49.48.

The performance guarantees Onyah a second consecutive appearance at the NCAA Championships, underlining her growing reputation on the collegiate circuit.

Meanwhile, compatriot Tima Godbless punched her ticket in the women’s 100m. She ran 11.10 seconds to finish 11th overall, advancing as one of the three non-automatic qualifiers.
