‘My Focus is to Stay Healthy,’ says Amusan After Winning in Rabat

Nigeria’s sprint queen, Tobi Amusan, delivered another scintillating performance at the Diamond League meeting in Rabat on Sunday, storming to victory in the women’s 100m hurdles with a time of 12.28 seconds.

The run not only equaled her personal season’s best but also set a new Meeting Record, underscoring her dominance on the track.

Amusan, the reigning world record holder, expressed her delight after the race.

‘I am really pleased with the result. To be honest, I felt like I executed the race close to the best of my ability. Winning was the main objective and a Meeting Record is a fantastic bonus,’ she said.

The Nigerian star praised the atmosphere in Rabat, highlighting the energy of the fans.

‘The atmosphere in Rabat is incredible and the crowd was absolutely electrifying. I have competed here several times and the support is always special,’ she added.

Looking ahead, Amusan emphasized her focus on maintaining fitness and consistency.

‘My focus is to stay healthy for the upcoming events and continue performing at the highest level,’ she concluded.
