Gout Gout Finishes Sixth in Oslo 200m, Vows to Return Stronger

Rising Australian sprinter Gout Gout made his Diamond League debut in Oslo, finishing sixth in the men’s 200m with a time of 20.60 seconds.

Despite not reaching the podium, the 17-year-old expressed gratitude and excitement at competing on one of athletics’ biggest stages.

‘It’s a great atmosphere here, I’m excited to be here, this was my very first Diamond League and I thank God for this wonderful opportunity,’ Gout said after the race.

He praised winner Letsile Tebogo, calling him ‘a great athlete’ and someone he has long admired.

Acknowledging the pressure that comes with his growing reputation, Gout emphasized his focus on enjoyment and long-term progress.

‘There’s definitely a lot more room for me to improve but I have plenty of time on my side. There’s always pressure on me but all I do is try my best and keep focusing on just having fun. I love competing against the big boys and I’ll be back for sure, I put no limits on myself.’
