Yussuf Alli Congratulates Edo Queens on NWFL Triumph

The Chief Executive Officer of the Elite Athletes Development and Podium Performance Board, Olympian Yussuf Alli, has congratulated Edo Queens Football Club on their victory in the Nigeria Women’s Football League (NWFL) 2025/26 season, secured after a successful campaign at the NWFL Super Six in Port Harcourt.

Alli described the triumph as a reflection of the club’s dominance and the hard work of the players, technical crew, and management.

He noted that as a former chairman of the Edo State Sports Commission, he had the privilege of leading Edo Queens to their first-ever NWFL title two years ago, and expressed pride in seeing the team build on that foundation.

He also commended the current Executive Chairman of the Edo State Sports Commission, Hon. Amadin Desmond Enabulele, for his unwavering support and strategic leadership in promoting women’s football and sports development in the state.

Alli assured him of continued support, praising his commitment to progress and service.

Turning to the players, Alli urged Edo Queens to carry their courage and determination onto the continental stage as they prepare for the CAF Women’s Champions League, encouraging them to ‘fly the flag of Edo State and Nigeria high’ and make Africa proud.

“Congratulations once again. The legacy continues,” Alli concluded in his statement.
