Cape Verde goalkeeper Vozinha produced a performance for the ages to secure a historic 0-0 draw against Spain in their FIFA World Cup opener.
No goalkeeper has made more saves from inside the box and kept a clean sheet in a World Cup game since 2018 than Vozinha, who registered six such stops against Spain.
In total, he completed seven saves, becoming only the fourth goalkeeper in the last three tournaments to record 7+ saves while maintaining a clean sheet.
He now joins an elite list alongside Guillermo Ochoa (9 saves vs Germany, 2018), Patrick Beach (8 saves vs Türkiye, 2026), and Devis Epassy (7 saves vs Brazil, 2022).
Spain peppered the Cape Verde goal with 27 shots, but Vozinha stood firm.
His game statistics underline the magnitude of his display: 29 of 42 passes completed, seven saves, six from inside the box, one from outside, and three crosses caught.
