Lagos Sports Commission Endorses 4th 1X Cup Grassroots Championship

The Lagos State Sports Commission (LSSC) has reaffirmed its commitment to grassroots football development by pledging full support for the upcoming 4th edition of the Community Grassroots 1X Cup Football Championship.
Director-General of the Commission, Lekan Fatodu, gave the assurance during a courtesy visit by the organisers of the competition, led by Ms. Geraldine Ibeanusi, Managing Director of 1XBet Nigeria, at the Teslim Balogun Stadium office.
Fatodu commended the organisers for sustaining the initiative, noting its remarkable impact on youth development across the state.
He expressed satisfaction with the growth of the championship, highlighting testimonies of young talents who have progressed to international clubs through the platform.
‘We will continue, as a state, to support this kind of remarkable initiative. It gives me joy to know that at each passing year, the competition grows. The impact is becoming more visible and a lot of lives are being transformed,’ Fatodu said.
‘Through this platform, many of our talents have moved to international clubs, and this is one of the success stories of sporting excellence in Lagos State.’
He further assured that the Lagos State Government, under the leadership of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, will continue to provide full backing for the championship.
‘This is a project that you will continue to see all the machinery of the state behind,’ he added.
The Community Grassroots 1X Cup Football Championship, powered by 1XBet Nigeria, has become a flagship initiative for nurturing young football talents and promoting community engagement through sports in Lagos State.
