Fulham Raise Bid for Nigeria’s Nwaiwu

Fulham have submitted an improved offer for Trabzonspor’s Nigerian centre-back Chibuike Nwaiwu, as they intensify efforts to bolster their defensive ranks ahead of the new Premier League season.
The Cottagers’ initial €20 million bid was rejected, but according to Turkish outlet Taka61, the club has now returned with a €25 million proposal.
Trabzonspor are understood to be holding firm at around €30 million before agreeing to part with the 22-year-old.
Nwaiwu only joined the Turkish side in January from Austrian outfit Wolfsberger AC, having previously played for Nigerian giants Enyimba.
Despite his short stay, he quickly became a standout performer, scoring three goals and providing one assist in 16 league appearances. His contributions were pivotal in Trabzonspor’s successful Turkish Cup campaign.
Fulham’s interest comes amid reports that West Ham United are also monitoring the defender, potentially setting up a Premier League bidding battle.
