Arsenal Style Helps Gabriel Magalhães Shine for Brazil

Gabriel Magalhães has hailed Arsenal’s tactical system after playing a decisive role in Brazil’s dramatic Round of 32 victory over Japan at the FIFA World Cup 2026.

With Brazil trailing, the centre-back stepped forward to deliver a precise pass that set up Casemiro’s headed equaliser, a moment that shifted the momentum of the match.

Later, Gabriel capped his performance by scoring the winning goal, ensuring Brazil’s progression to the last 16.

Speaking to UOL after the game, Gabriel credited his club’s influence on his development.

‘It is something I work on at Arsenal,’ he explained, noting how the Gunners’ high defensive line and progressive style have given him the confidence to contribute offensively as well as defensively.

Brazil will now prepare for their next challenge in the tournament, facing Norway in New York/New Jersey on July 5 after Erling Haaland’s late strike eliminated Côte d’Ivoire earlier in the day.
