Trabzonspor Confirms Olaigbe Loan Deal With Basel

Trabzonspor have officially announced that Belgian winger Kazeem Olaigbe has joined Swiss Super League side Basel on loan, with an option to buy.

The deal includes a significant clause: if Basel exercise the purchase option, half of the transfer fee will be allocated to Konyaspor.

According to Trabzonspor’s statement to the Public Disclosure Platform, Basel would pay €3.75 million should they decide to make the move permanent.

In that scenario, Konyaspor would receive 50 percent of the income. Additionally, if Basel later sell Olaigbe to another club, Trabzonspor will retain a 10 percent sell-on clause.

Financial details of the arrangement reveal that Basel will cover €1 million of Olaigbe’s €1.35 million salary during the loan spell.

The player, who was not considered part of Trabzonspor’s first-team plans, now has the opportunity to revive his career in Switzerland.
