Parallex Bank has honored 10 outstanding athletes from Lagos State who excelled at the 2025 National Youth Games in Asaba, awarding each ₦1 million in recognition of their achievements, according to NAN
The gesture, totaling ₦10 million, underscores the bank’s commitment to youth empowerment and sports development through corporate social responsibility.
At a presentation ceremony held at the bank’s headquarters in Lagos, Managing Director and CEO Dr. Olufemi Bakre presented symbolic cheques to the athletes, alongside officials from the Lagos State Sports Commission, coaches, and administrators.
Dr. Bakre explained: ‘At Parallex Bank, we believe that investing in young people is an investment in the future. These exceptional athletes have demonstrated excellence, discipline and resilience, and we are proud to celebrate their achievements.
‘Through this recognition, we reaffirm our commitment to empowering young talents and enabling limitless possibilities for the next generation.’
The Director General of the Lagos State Sports Commission praised the initiative as a strong example of private sector support for grassroots sports, noting that the partnership between the Commission and Parallex Bank has evolved into a strategic collaboration that motivates athletes and complements government efforts.
This latest intervention builds on the bank’s previous support for Lagos athletes at earlier editions of the National Youth Games. It also highlights Parallex Bank’s broader dedication to youth development, education, community empowerment, and sustainable social impact.
By recognizing excellence beyond the classroom and workplace, Parallex Bank hopes to inspire more young Nigerians to pursue their ambitions with resilience and discipline.
