Burna Boy, Justin Bieber Join Madonna, Shakira for Historic FIFA World Cup 2026 Final Halftime Show
Global music stars Burna Boy and Justin Bieber will headline the first-ever FIFA World Cup Final Halftime Show, joining Madonna, Shakira and BTS for a landmark performance that will combine football, entertainment and social impact.
FIFA and Global Citizen announced that Bieber has been added as a co-headliner for the historic event, scheduled to take place on Sunday, July 19, 2026, during the FIFA World Cup 2026 final at New York New Jersey Stadium.
The 11-minute halftime spectacle will bring together some of the biggest names in global music, with Burna Boy also set to perform alongside internationally acclaimed Venezuelan conductor Gustavo Dudamel and the Webby Award-winning PS22 Chorus featuring Coldplay.
The show, curated by Coldplay frontman Chris Martin, will celebrate the power of football and music while supporting the FIFA Global Citizen Education Fund, an initiative aimed at raising $100 million to expand access to quality education and football opportunities for children around the world.
More than $50 million has already been raised for the fund, including a contribution of $1 from every ticket sold for FIFA World Cup 2026 matches. The initiative will support social projects focused on improving educational opportunities for children globally.
FIFA President Gianni Infantino said the inclusion of global artists reflects the organisation’s commitment to using football’s biggest stage to promote education and opportunity.
Burna Boy, whose collaboration with Shakira on the global hit ‘Dai Dai’ has gained worldwide attention, said representing Africa at the historic event was both an honour and a responsibility.
‘To represent Africa on the first-ever FIFA World Cup Final Halftime Show is a privilege and a responsibility that I don’t take lightly,’ Burna Boy said.
‘I’m honoured to be part of a performance that not only celebrates football and culture but also helps create greater opportunities for children through education around the world.’
Bieber also highlighted the wider purpose behind the event, saying he was grateful to participate in a performance that contributes to expanding educational access for children.
