Soetan, Dr Okorie Head Seven-Man Organising Committee for Dynamic Athletics Meet 2026
Lekan Soetan and Dr. Henry Okorie will spearhead the organisation of the Dynamic Athletics Meet 2026 after being appointed to head a seven-man Local Organising Committee (LOC) for the competition.
The committee, unveiled ahead of the one-day athletics meeting scheduled for Saturday, August 15, 2026, at the YABATECH Sports Complex in Lagos, comprises experienced athletics administrators, technical officials, coaches and event managers tasked with delivering a world-class event.
Soetan, Chairman of the South West Athletics Association, has been appointed Technical Director.
A highly respected athletics statistician and technical official, he will oversee the technical conduct of the competition and ensure it meets World Athletics standards.
Dr. Henry Okorie, the Athletes’ Representative on the board of the Athletics Federation of Nigeria (AFN), will serve as Meet Manager, coordinating the overall operations of the event to ensure its smooth and efficient delivery.
The Technical Information Centre (TIC) will be headed by Olalekan Adebote, Chairman of the Athletics Coaches Association of Nigeria (ACAN), who will supervise athlete entries, results management and technical documentation.
Abiodun Ibrahim has been named Field Events Manager and will oversee all field event competitions. The experienced coach and sports administrator is also a member of the Lagos State Athletics Association’s technical team.
Engr. Femi Daramola will combine the roles of Jump Events Coordinator and TIC Official, while Adewale Michaelson will provide technical support within the Technical Information Centre, ensuring efficient competition management and event operations.
The committee is led by Olabanji Ayegbusi, founder of the Dynamic Athletics Meet, who has been appointed Meeting Director.
In addition to overseeing the planning and execution of the competition, Ayegbusi will coordinate media and communications to enhance the event’s visibility.
