Celtic Offer Iheanacho New Contract as Striker Weighs Future

Celtic have offered Nigeria international striker Kelechi Iheanacho a new contract as the club look to secure his future ahead of the new season.
The 29-year-old forward is understood to be considering the terms of the proposal while also attracting interest from other clubs.
Celtic manager Martin O’Neill confirmed that an offer has been made and said the club are now waiting for a response from the player.
‘There’s an offer there to him at this minute. So, we’ll see how that develops,’ O’Neill told reporters during Celtic’s pre-season camp in Portugal.
Iheanacho joined Celtic last summer on a one-year contract that included an option for an additional season.
However, that extension clause expired in June, meaning the Scottish champions have had to open fresh negotiations with the former Leicester City and Manchester City forward.
The striker’s decision is now set to determine the next stage of his career, with Celtic hoping to reach an agreement while other opportunities remain available.
