Amusan Arrives in Aberdeen, Eyes Historic Commonwealth Games Hat-Trick

World 100m hurdles record holder and reigning Commonwealth Games champion, Tobi Amusan, has joined Team Nigeria’s training camp in Aberdeen as she begins her final preparations for a historic title defence.

The 28-year-old sprint hurdler arrived Wednesday evening, determined to make history as the first Nigerian track and field athlete to win three consecutive individual Commonwealth Games titles.

Amusan first claimed gold at the 2018 Games in Gold Coast, Australia, before successfully defending her crown in Birmingham four years later, becoming the first Nigerian athlete to achieve back-to-back victories in any track and field event.

Now, as the reigning Nigerian, African Games, Commonwealth Games, World Championships and World record holder, Amusan is focused on extending her dominance.

She will also aim to surpass the 12.30 seconds Games record she set during her triumphant run in Birmingham.

With her arrival, Team Nigeria’s camp is energized, as Amusan’s pursuit of a third consecutive Commonwealth Games title promises to be one of the defining stories of the competition.
