Arsenal Turn to Osimhen as Gunners Step Up Striker Hunt

Victor Osimhen has emerged as a potential Arsenal target after the Gunners reportedly opened discussions with Galatasaray over a possible deal for the Nigerian striker.

According to reports from The Telegraph, Osimhen’s name came up during talks between Arsenal and Galatasaray concerning the Turkish club’s interest in Arsenal forwards Gabriel Martinelli and Ethan Nwaneri.

Galatasaray have reportedly submitted a €45 million bid for Martinelli, while negotiations are also advancing over Nwaneri.

Osimhen has enjoyed an outstanding spell in Turkey since joining Galatasaray permanently from Napoli for €75 million last summer.

The 27-year-old has scored 59 goals in 74 appearances across his two seasons with the Istanbul giants and helped them win consecutive league titles.

The development represents a significant change in Arsenal’s attacking plans. The Gunners had reportedly identified Atlético Madrid’s Julián Álvarez as their preferred striker target, but Atlético have remained unwilling to negotiate and have already rejected a €100 million offer from Barcelona.

With the Álvarez deal proving difficult, Arsenal could now explore Osimhen as an alternative. The Nigerian was previously offered to Arsenal in 2024, but the club opted against pursuing a deal because of the financial demands surrounding his transfer from Napoli.
