Amusan Vs Russell to Headline 2026 ATHLOS 100m Hurdles Showdown

Nigeria’s Tobi Amusan and reigning Olympic champion Masai Russell are set to headline a star-studded 100m hurdles field at the 2026 ATHLOS series as their growing rivalry takes centre stage.

Amusan and Russell have already met three times this season, with the American Olympic champion winning each encounter.

The Nigerian sprint hurdler will have another opportunity to challenge Russell when the pair meet at the Athletissima in Lausanne this weekend, the 13th meeting of the 2026 Wanda Diamond League season.

Their rivalry is expected to add another layer of excitement to the 2026 ATHLOS 100m hurdles, where they will be joined by Bahamas hurdler Devynne Charlton and American Grace Stark.

ATHLOS has confirmed an expanded 2026 season, with the all-women professional track and field league going global with its first London meeting at StoneX Stadium on September 18 before returning to Icahn Stadium in New York on October 2 for its championship finale.

The seven events on the ATHLOS programme are the 100m hurdles, 100m, 200m, 400m, 800m, mile and long jump, with several Olympic and world-class stars already confirmed.

The 2026 season will feature a new two-city league format, with athletes earning points in London and New York before the overall champions in each discipline are crowned in New York.

ATHLOS has also announced a record prize-money package, with $65,000 going to each event winner, while more than $2.1 million will be distributed across the two meetings.

Overall champions will additionally receive a $25,000 championship bonus and the prestigious Tiffany & Co. crown.
