Osimhen Faces Injury Lay-Off Fear As Galatasaray Await MRI Results

Galatasaray are awaiting the results of further medical examinations on Victor Osimhen after the Nigerian striker was forced off during Friday’s Trendyol Süper Lig clash against Başakşehir with a groin injury.

The Turkish champions confirmed that Osimhen was experiencing tension and pain in his right adductor muscle group after the match.

He has already begun treatment, but Galatasaray said further examinations, including an MRI scan, will be completed to determine the extent of the injury.

The development is a concern for Galatasaray, with Osimhen having established himself as one of the club’s most important attacking players.

The Nigerian’s condition will also be closely monitored in the coming days, particularly given his importance to the Super Eagles.

Osimhen was not the only Galatasaray player affected, as Mario Lemina also suffered a right adductor problem during the match.

Wilfried Singo, meanwhile, sustained a separate injury during training, with examinations revealing damage and bleeding involving the tendon and muscle in his right thigh biceps femoris group.

Galatasaray said treatment for all three players has commenced and that their medical team has carefully planned their diagnosis and rehabilitation.

For now, the biggest question is how serious Osimhen’s groin problem is and how long the prolific Nigerian striker could be sidelined.
