Femi Azeez Could Make Brighton Debut Against Coventry

Nigeria international Femi Azeez could make his Brighton & Hove Albion debut on Sunday when the Seagulls travel to face Coventry City.

Azeez joined Brighton from Championship side Millwall on transfer deadline day but has been forced to wait for his first appearance after suffering a minor hamstring injury.

However, Brighton head coach Fabian Hurzeler has revealed that the 25-year-old winger is close to full fitness and could be available for the weekend fixture.

‘Also regarding him, I hope he will be an option,’ Hurzeler told reporters.

‘He will definitely train today with the squad and hopefully everything is fine, and then he hopefully is an option for the weekend.’

Azeez made just one appearance for Millwall this season before completing his move to Brighton.

The former Reading winger will now hope to make his first competitive appearance for the Premier League club as Brighton seek a second league victory of the season.

The Seagulls were held to a 1-1 draw by Leeds United last weekend and have recorded just one win from their opening three Premier League matches.

Azeez’s return to full training gives Hurzeler another attacking option as Brighton look to claim maximum points against Coventry.
