Nigerian Striker Says Agents Handled Negotiations As Fans’ Messages Boosted His Move To Turkish Club

Kelechi Iheanacho has revealed how his move to Turkish club Bursaspor came about, saying his agents handled negotiations before he agreed to join the club.

Speaking on Bursaspor’s YouTube channel, the Nigerian striker said he remained focused on football while his representatives managed discussions with the club.

‘I don’t talk about transfer negotiations. I tried to focus on my football. To be honest, the transfer negotiations were handled by agents and managers,’ Iheanacho said.

He explained that his agent informed him of Bursaspor’s interest and provided details of the proposed move. After reviewing the offer, he agreed to join, describing the club as an attractive destination with a rich history.

‘My agent told me that he was in contact with Bursaspor. He explained everything to me in detail. And I was happy and I said, yes. It’s a good and interesting place,’ he said.

Iheanacho admitted that the process took longer than expected but expressed satisfaction with the outcome.

‘To be honest, we delayed the process a bit. But here we are in the end. I enjoy every moment,’ he added.

The former Leicester City and Sevilla forward also praised Bursaspor supporters for their role in welcoming him, revealing that fans sent him numerous messages on Instagram during the transfer process.

‘Our fans sent many messages on Instagram. It was very nice. I love it when I see this kind of thing,’ he said, adding that he enjoyed the creative and humorous artificial-intelligence content supporters made about him.
