Inter 1-0 Napoli: Osimhen fails Inter Milan test again

Nigerian fails to score in four appearances against the Milan side

Victor Osimhen failed to score for the fourth time against Inter Milan Wednesday evening as his club, Napoli lost for the first time in the Serie A this term.

The Nigerian is yet to score against any of the three traditional big teams in Italy (AC Milan, Inter and Juventus) and all eyes were on the Napoli striker to not only score but also help the Partenopei keep their unbeaten record in the competition so far this season.

The 24 year old was however caged at the scene of where he had that horrific injury last term which ensured he missed about eight Serie A games for Napoli.

The former Lille of France forward has only bagged an assist in his four games against Inter Milan.

Osimhen is also yet to score against AC Milan in two appearances and against Juventus in three appearances albeit he has provided an assist in Napoli’s 2-1 loss to the Old Lady in April 2021.

The match at the Guiseppe Meazza stadium was settled by old war horse, Edin Dzeko’s goal.

It was his 20th goal for the Nerazzurrini with each of the goals coming after his 35th birthday.

Interestingly, all the other Inter players who have found the net at 35+ years old in the competition have scored 19 in total.

Inter, last season’s runners-up has now knocked the Partenopei down from a 15-match unbeaten league streak to change the complexity of the Scudetto race.
