Iheanacho is third Super Eagles star to be voted official Man of the match in EPL

Kelechi Iheanacho has become the third Super Eagles player after Alex Iwobi and Taiwo Awoniyi to be voted the oficial Man of the match in the Premier League so far this season after he scored once and provided two assists to help Leicester City defeat Aston Villa 4-2 at Villa Park on Saturday.
The 26 year was adjudged the Foxes best player in the game that saw Leicester City return to winning ways since November 2022 when they defeated West Ham 2-0 at the London stadium.
It was the Nigerian’s first start and first goal since September 2022 when he featured in Leicester City’s 5-2 loss at Brighton. Iheanacho had one shot on target in the game, created two big chances and made two key passes.
Iwobi was the first Nigerian to be voted Man of the match in the competition so far this season after his imperious display led Everton to a commanding 3-0 defeat of Crystal Palace at Goodison Park last October.
The former Arsenal player provided two assists in the game, created two big chances and three key passes were made by him.
Nothingham Forest’s Taiwo Awoniyi was also voted man of the match after scoring the winner for the third time in his club’s 1-0 win at Saint Mary’s stadium against their host, Joe Aribo’s Southampton.
The 25 year had scored the only goal in Forest’s 1-0 dfefeats of West Ham and Liverpool last August and October respectively.
In the win at St Mary’s last month, Awoniyi had only one shot on targetand made one key pass and they were enough with his goal to crown him man of the match in his debut season in the competition.
