Adegoke Smashes 60m Indoor PB Again in Erfurt

Tokyo Olympics 100m finalist Enoch Adegoke improved his lifetime best to 6.70 seconds in the 60m to win Final B at the Erfurt Indoor Meeting, a World Athletics Indoor Tour Bronze event, on Friday evening.

The 25-year-old, who will turn 26 in March, has been steadily lowering his personal best since returning to indoor athletics. He began the season with a new 6.71 mark at the Sparkassen Indoor Meeting in Dortmund last weekend and has now shaved another hundredth of a second off that time.

Adegoke is working his way back to stardom five years after making history as the first Nigerian man in 25 years to reach the final of the 100m at the Olympics, and the first home-based athlete to run a wind-legal 10.00 seconds to win the Nigerian Championships title.

Meanwhile, the other Nigerian in the race, Fola Oyaye, ran 6.63 to place second in Final A, which was won by German sprinter Kevin Kranz in 6.61.
