Adeleke to make 2025 Diamond League debut in Oslo

Rhasidat Adeleke is set to make her 2025 Wanda Diamond League debut on Thursday at the Bislett Games in Oslo, Norway.
The Paris 2024 Olympic 400m finalist has not raced since she helped Ireland punched two World Athletics Championships relay tickets (women’s 4x400m and the Mixed 4x400m) at the World Relays last month in Nanjing, China.
The 22-year-old is looking to finally mount the podium in the 400m at a global championship and will hope to serve notice of that in Oslo.
The Irish record has won just once in the Diamond League, athletics’ elite one day meeting series.
That win came last year at the Monaco Diamond League where she ran 49.17, her second fastest time ever over the full lap race after running 49.07 to win the silver medal at the European Athletics Championships in Rome, Italy just a little over a month earlier.
Adeleke has also been confirmed for the BAUHAUS-galan Diamond League meeting that will hold three days later in Stockholm, Sweden.
The Irish star will not face any of the three athletes that denied her a podium appearance in Paris.
Olympic champion, Marileidy Paulino, silver medalist Salwa Eid-Naser and bonze medal winner, Natalia Kaczmarek are not listed to run in Oslo and Stockholm.
Adeleke has a 6-0 head to head record against Paulino and 3-1 against Eid Naser.
