After a hugely successful indoor campaign, reigning NCAA Division 1 Indoor champion in the High Jump, Temitope Adeshina will be looking to start her outdoor campaign with a big bang.

The 26-year-old, Texas Tech University Sophomore will open her outdoor campaign on Saturday at the 44 Farms Team Invitational at the Bryan-College Station in Texas.

The Nigerian will be hoping for a huge clearance to set the tone for her outdoors as she bid to become the first Nigerian high jumper to win the NCAA Division 1 Indoor and Outdoor titles as well as become the first to hit the two metres mark in the event.

Adeshina holds a 1.97m lifetime best which is a Nigerian record and will be looking to add just three more centimetres to make history.

She will also be looking to hit the automatic entry standard for the event () early enough as she hopes to not only be the second Nigerian to make it to the final of the event at the World Championships after Doreen Amata but the first to make it to the podium.

Amata made it to the final of the World Chamionships in Daegu, South Korea in 2011 and finished as the seventh best with her 1.93m clearance.
