AFCON 2025: Ndidi Walking Pain-Free, But Faces Medical Evaluation on Monday
Nigeria captain Wilfred Ndidi will undergo further medical evaluation on Monday after sustaining a hamstring strain in Super Eagles’ Africa Cup of Nations quarter-final defeat of Algeria in Marrakech.
Team doctors have confirmed the midfielder is walking pain-free, raising hopes that the injury may not be serious, though a scan could be required to determine the extent of the problem.
Regardless of the outcome of Monday’s assessment, Ndidi will be unavailable for Nigeria’s semi-final against Morocco due to card suspension. His absence is a significant setback for the Super Eagles as they prepare for Wednesday’s clash at the Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium in Rabat.
Should Nigeria progress to the final, Ndidi could return to action, pending medical clearance.
