AFCON 2025: Osayi-Samuel Confident Ahead of Morocco Clash

Nigeria defender Bright Osayi-Samuel believes the Super Eagles have sent a strong message with their clean-sheet victory over Algeria, insisting that their form will make upcoming opponents Morocco wary.

Speaking after the match, Osayi-Samuel said: ‘It will be a difficult game because Morocco are a great team, but the way we are playing, another clean sheet today against a side that scores goals, we are in good form.

‘I think Morocco will be scared of us, and that’s what we want to do: big statement wins. Today against Algeria was one of them.’

The right-back was widely praised for his performance against Algeria, where Nigeria’s defensive resilience proved decisive.

Although the Man of the Match award went to striker Victor Osimhen, many observers felt Osayi-Samuel was equally deserving after another assured display at the back.

Osayi-Samuel has been described as ‘rock solid’ in recent outings, with his consistency helping Nigeria build momentum as they prepare for a crucial showdown with Morocco.
