AFCON 2025 Top Scorer, Brahim Díaz Makes AFCON History

Real Madrid star Brahim Díaz has written his name into Africa Cup of Nations history, becoming the first Moroccan player ever to score in five consecutive matches at a single edition of the tournament.

Díaz found the net in every game from the group stage through to the Round of 16 and quarter-final, a feat unmatched in Morocco’s footballing history.

His tally of five goals so far also makes him the first player since Ghana’s Osei Kofi in 1968 to score in each of the first five AFCON fixtures.

He also became only the second Moroccan to score in three consecutive AFCON matches, a record previously held alone by national legend Ahmed Faras for 49 years.

By achieving this milestone, Díaz joins an exclusive group of players who have scored in five separate matches at a single AFCON tournament:

1974 – Ndaye Mulamba (DR Congo)

2010 – Gedo (Egypt)

2022 – Vincent Aboubakar (Cameroon)

2025 – Brahim Díaz (Morocco)
