AFN Electoral Committees Unveils List Of Candidates Cleared For Its Zonal Elections

The 2025 AFN Electoral Committee has announced the final list of candidates cleared to contest in the upcoming Zonal Representative Elections with outgoing Southeast zonal representative, Victor Okorie topping the list despite the damninig and damaging documents circulating in the media against his candidacy.

The Committee however says those cleared, including Okorie, made the list ‘following rigorous scrutiny of all submitted nomination forms in accordance with the 2025 AFN Electoral Guidelines and 2023 AFN Constitution.

Those who candidacy has been validated include Ikpokpo Itiako Constantine, the originator and organizer of the hugely talked about and successful Niger Delta Sports Festival who is believed to be the front-runner to succeed incumbent AFN President, Tonobok Ojuru Okowa whose tenure is marked with protracted crisis and allegation of corruption as reported by the Federation’s Audit Committee in 2023.
