Agent: Osimhen not interested in Ronaldo swap deal
Says Nigerian wants to play in the Champions League with Napoli
Victor Osimhen’s agent Roberto Calenda insists the Napoli striker wants to play in the Champions League and there are no ongoing negotiations with Manchester United.
Reports in Italy suggest Ronaldo’s agent Jorge Mendes is working on a deal to bring Osimhen to Manchester United and his star client to Napoli on loan.
The Partenopei had reportedly demanded €120m to sell the Nigeria international, but his agent Calenda has denied that Osimhen is considering leaving.
“No ongoing negotiations, no swap deals,” Calenda wrote on Twitter.
“Osimhen is a Napoli player and wants to play in the Champions League with his Napoli side after conquering it on the pitch with pride along with his teammates and the coach.”
Today’s edition of Tuttosport newspaper claimed Osimhen is not interested in joining the Red Devils because he wants to play Champions League football.
Osimhen has entered his third season at the Stadio Maradona, where he has scored 30 goals in 64 appearances.
His teammate Mario Rui had kept the door open for Ronaldo’s move to Napoli, saying that the dressing room would welcome CR7 “with open arms.”
Osimhen started the season in the best possible way by scoring both in Napoli’s debut match in the league at Bentegodi against Verona and in the following match, the one with Monza.
