Ahmed Musa targets NPFL glory in Kano Pillars rebuild

In a passionate and forward-looking interview on the Kano Pillars FC YouTube channel, newly appointed General Manager Ahmed Musa laid out his ambitious vision for the club’s 2025/26 season, declaring that the team is gunning for the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) title or, at the very least, a continental competition slot.

Musa, a former Super Eagles captain and one of Nigeria’s most decorated footballers, emphasized his commitment to repositioning Kano Pillars as a powerhouse in Nigerian football.

He spoke candidly about the club’s current rebuilding phase, stressing the importance of discipline, professionalism, and strategic planning.

‘We are not just here to participate. Our goal is clear—we want to win the NPFL or secure a continental ticket. That’s the standard we’re setting,’ Musa stated confidently.

The interview also highlighted Musa’s hands-on approach to management. He revealed plans to improve player welfare, enhance training facilities, and foster a winning mentality across all levels of the club.

Musa’s leadership style blends his international experience with grassroots understanding, having played for Kano Pillars earlier in his career before stints in Europe and Saudi Arabia.

He acknowledged the challenges ahead but remained optimistic, calling on fans and stakeholders to rally behind the team.

‘We need unity and belief. With the right support, Kano Pillars can rise again,’ he added.

The club has already begun preseason preparations, with Musa actively involved in scouting and recruitment. His presence has energized the squad and reignited fan enthusiasm across Kano State.
