AIU says it won’t comment on failed appeals against Amusan, Jeruto until..

The Athletics Integrity Unit, AIU, says it will wait for the Court of Arbitration for Sport, CAS, to publish its full judgement on the failed appeals lodged on its behalf by World Athletics as well as the World Anti-Doping Agency, WADA, against Nigerian high hurdler, Tobi Amusan and Kenya-born Kazakhastani, Leah Jeruto.

On Tuesday, CAS dismissed the appeal filed by World Athletics against the decision issued on 27 October 2023 by the World Athletics Disciplinary Tribunal, with respect to the ABP case against Norah Jeruto while, three days later, CAS also dismissed the appeal filed by World Athletics and the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) against the decision issued by the World Athletics Disciplinary Tribunal on 17 August 2023, with regards to the Whereabouts charge against Tobi Amusan.

AIU has come out to say it will only comment after the full judgement has been published by CAS.

‘In all of these cases, the reasoned awards are yet to be published by CAS and so no further comment can be made at this time,’ wrote the AIU on its X handle.
