Ajibade: Super Falcons gunning for 10th WAFCON title

The Super Falcons are determined to reclaim their dominance at the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) in Morocco, as captain Rasheedat Ajibade affirms the team’s commitment to securing their 10th title.

Despite losing their crown to South Africa’s Banyana Banyana in the last edition, Justine Madugu’s squad is prepared to reaffirm their status as the continent’s most formidable force. With nine WAFCON titles, the Falcons remain the most successful team in the tournament’s history.

Ajibade, who has been instrumental in the team’s success, expressed confidence in their preparations: “There’s a lot of confidence in camp, and we’re committed to our goal. We all understand what’s at stake.”

The West Africans kick off their campaign against Tunisia on Sunday, 6 July, followed by clashes with Botswana and Algeria in Group B. With determination fueling their efforts, the Falcons are poised to soar once again.
