Akor Adams Frustrated Despite Scoring Against Vallecano

Akor Adams has voiced his frustration after Sevilla’s 1-1 draw with Rayo Vallecano, despite finding the net to give his side the lead.

The Nigerian forward admitted that while every point matters at this stage of the season, he felt Sevilla should have taken all three.

‘I think every point is important at this stage of the season, and we work hard to get them. We got a point, but there are many things to work on and improve to reach our goal of taking all three,’ he said after the game.

Adams acknowledged his own missed chances, taking responsibility for not putting Sevilla further ahead.

‘Yes, we’re glad to have taken something, but not entirely satisfied. I take responsibility; there were situations where I could have put us further ahead. We will work on that and be better next time.’

Although his strike was his seventh of the campaign, making him Sevilla’s top scorer, Adams insisted that collective success outweighs personal milestones.

‘For me, the most important thing is winning with Sevilla. I work hard every day to win matches. Scoring goals is my job, but at this stage of the season, it doesn’t matter if Kike or Lucien scores, we just need points. Regarding the seven goals… I think I should have more. I’m grateful, but I’m not satisfied right now.’

Sevilla now prepare for a crucial trip to face Barcelona at Camp Nou, where Adams will be eager to replicate his performance from the reverse fixture and help his side secure a vital win.
