Akor Adams nets first LaLiga goal to secure third win for Sevilla

Akor Adams scored his first LaLiga goal on his ninth appearance to give Sevilla their third win of the season in seven games.

The Nigerian, 25, who joined the Andalusian club in January from Ligue 1 side Montpellier, scored in the 87th minute to seal a 1–0 victory at the Campo de Fútbol de Vallecas against hosts Rayo Vallecano.

The goal pushed Sevilla up to eighth on the log, above bitter city rivals Real Betis, who play later on Sunday.

Adams has been plagued by injuries since joining the club and has missed 15 games due to hamstring and muscle issues.

He was subbed on for Isaac Romero in the 69th minute and scored the only goal of the match with three minutes left in regulation time, breaking the hearts of the hosts and their supporters.

The other Nigerian in the team, Chidera Ejuke, was an unused substitute for the second time this season.
