Allegri Slams Fabregas as ‘Child Who Started Coaching’ After San Siro Melee
A fiery Serie A encounter between AC Milan and Como at San Siro descended into controversy as Massimiliano Allegri and Cesc Fabregas clashed in a heated touchline confrontation that overshadowed the 1–1 draw.
The incident erupted when Fabregas, angered that Milan’s Alexis Saelemaekers had escaped a second yellow card, physically obstructed the Belgian winger during a transition, reportedly grabbing his shirt.
The unsporting act sparked outrage from the Milan bench, leading to a melee in the technical area and a red card for Allegri.
Despite offering a post-match apology, Fabregas admitted his actions were born out of emotion rather than malice.
‘I ask for forgiveness because I did something I’m not proud of, I did something unsporting. We stole the ball, but I touched Saelemaekers out of emotion. Like Chivu said the other day: hands off, especially the coach. We can’t do this. One thing I hope I never do again,’ the former Arsenal captain said.
The tension between the two managers carried into the post-match corridors, where Allegri reportedly told his Como counterpart: ‘You’re a child who started out as a coach.’
The remark underscored the animosity that has simmered since their first meeting earlier in the season at the Stadio Sinigaglia.
