Amusan, Brume to miss out on first batch of 2025 Diamond League bonus prize money
Sprint hurdler, Tobi Amusan and long jumper, Ese Brume will not have the chance to compete for the 2025 Diamond League bonus prize money for the first four of the 15 meetings after their events were excluded from the events that will offer the bonus nprize money.
The opening four Diamond League meetings in Xiamen, Shanghai/Keqiao, Doha and Rabat on Monday announced the disciplines which will receive increased prize money at their events in 2025.
According to the new prize money structure introduced for the 2025 season, each series meeting can nominate four ‘Diamond+ Disciplines’ (two male and two female).
These disciplines will offer higher levels of prize money, with the maximum for individual athletes rising from USD 10,000 to USD 20,000.
According to the organisers, the Diamond+ Disciplines at Xiamen, Shanghai/Keqiao, Doha and Rabat will be as follows:
Xiamen 5000m women, high jump women, 110m hurdles men, pole vault men
Shanghai/Keqiao 200m women, shot put women, 100m men, 110m hurdles men
Doha 1500m women, pole vault women, 400m hurdles men, high jump men
Rabat 100m women, 400m hurdles women, 200m men, shot put men
The 100m hurdles where Amusan will be competing to reclaim her Diamond Trophy will feature in the opening two legs of the competition while the long jump will not feature until the seventh leg in Stockholm.
The Diamond+ Disciplines for the next four meetings – Rome, Oslo, Stockholm and Paris – will be announced in April.
