Aribo, Onuachu make history as Southampton are relegated again

Joe Aribo was on for 64th minute while Paul Onuachu was subbed on in the 73rd minute as they both crashed 3-1 at Tottenham Hotspur to crash out of the Premier League for the second time of asking in three seasons.

In crashing out of the English topflight, the Nigerian duo and Southampton made history as the team to be relegated with as many as seven matches remaining.

The two Nigerians were involved the first time Southampton were relegated in the 2022/23 season and are also involved this season.

While Aribo helped Southampton make an immediate return this season, Onuachu went on loan to Turkish Super Lig side, Trabzonspor.

It is not certain if the duo will follow the club to the Sky Bet Championship but Onuachu has made himself a beautiful bride with four goals in his last 10 Premier League games.
