Arsenal 2-1 Wolves: Saka says Arsenal got out of jail in dramatic win

Arsenal captain Bukayo Saka admitted his side needed a touch of fortune in their dramatic 2-1 win over Wolves but said the three points were all that mattered as the Premier League leaders continued their title push.

Speaking after the match, Saka acknowledged that Arsenal struggled to break down the bottom‑placed visitors and had to remain patient before finally finding a late breakthrough.

Saka said the team always aims to make the Emirates a difficult place for opponents, but he conceded that frustration crept in as Wolves’ deep defensive block held firm for long spells.

He revealed that the message within the squad was to stay calm and keep trying different approaches, confident that a reward would eventually come.

Reflecting on the late twist that saw Arsenal win through a stoppage‑time own goal, Saka admitted that luck played its part but insisted that such moments are part of football.

He added that morale within the squad remains high and that the players can enjoy the victory before turning their attention to next week’s fixtures.

‘Yes, sometimes you need it [luck]. Today, it went our way. We will take the points and move forward. We won’t know until May, but we can be happy tonight that we left with three points.

‘Coming to the Emirates we want to make the teams know that it is going to be tough here and it is not going to be an easy game. It was frustrating at times, I’ll be honest. The message to the boys was to stay patient and trying things – in the end we got our reward. It is high [morale] and we have a break now up until next week,’ Saka told TNT Sports after the game
