Arsenal Vs Southampton: Gunners gunning for 400th Premier League win at home

Arsenal will not only be gunning for their 25th unbeaten home run in a row against Southampton on Saturday, Mikel Arteta’s men will also be looking to secure their 400th Premier League win at home.

The Gunners’ 4-2 defeat of Leicester City last weekend at the Emirates was their 399th win at home and will be the second side to reach 400 in the competition after Manchester United who have won 428 times at Old Trafford.

The omen looks good for the Gunners who are unbeaten in their last 40 Premier League home games against promoted sides with only Chelsea (43 between 2001-2015) and Manchester City (41 between 2007-2020) have had longer such runs.

Arteta will be looking up to winger Bukayo Saka who has provided the most assists in the Premier League this season to make it six assists in six games and forward, Kai Havertz who has scored six goals in his last six league home games, scoring in each of his last four at Emirates Stadium. The last player to score in five straight home league games for us was Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang in September 2019.

Saka has scored twice and provided three assists in seven games against Southampton while Havertz, who is gunning for his 20th goal for Arsenal in 61 appearances, has netted twice in four games against the Saints.

Arsenal will also be looking to score a goal from a corner in four consecutive Premier League games for the first time, with Liverpool in 2022 being the last side to do so in the competition.
