Atalanta Break Silence on Lookman Transfer as Fenerbahçe Close In

According to NTV Spor, Fenerbahçe’s transfer focus has shifted firmly onto Ademola Lookman, with reports from Italy suggesting the Turkish giants are on the verge of completing a blockbuster deal for the Nigerian forward.
Fresh from their 2-0 Super Cup triumph over Galatasaray, the yellow-navy blue side are determined to strengthen their squad, and Lookman has emerged as their top target.
According to Italian media, Fenerbahçe are prepared to pay a €40 million transfer fee to Atalanta and offer Lookman a significant salary increase.
The 28-year-old currently earns €2.5 million annually in Bergamo, but the proposed deal would see him pocket around €9 million per year in Istanbul.
Atalanta CEO Luca Percassi addressed the speculation in an interview with DAZN, confirming that negotiations are ongoing but not yet finalized.
When jokingly asked if he had learned Turkish to aid discussions with Fenerbahçe, Percassi laughed and replied, ‘I haven’t found out yet.’
Lookman’s performances this season have kept him in the spotlight. In 16 appearances, totaling 1,153 minutes, he has contributed three goals and one assist.
While not his most prolific campaign, his versatility and attacking quality remain highly valued, making him a prized asset for Fenerbahçe as they aim to bolster their attacking options.
The coming days will be decisive, with Fenerbahçe pushing to ‘finish the job’ and secure one of Nigeria’s brightest stars for their title ambitions.
