Atalanta Enforces Disciplinary Measures as Lookman Returns to Individual Training

Atalanta B.C. has confirmed that Nigerian international Ademola Lookman has resumed training at the club’s Zingonia facility following a two-week absence.

However, the forward will continue to train individually under supervision until the close of the summer transfer window on September 1, 2025.

Lookman returned to Bergamo on Monday after spending time in the Algarve and London, arriving at the training ground shortly after 9 a.m.

He was seen conducting a personalized session on the pitch, accompanied by his father, a close friend, and his agent. While he greeted teammates upon arrival, the club has clarified that his physical condition is still being evaluated and that he will not rejoin full team activities at this time.

The decision to isolate Lookman from group training stems from ongoing disciplinary concerns and unresolved tensions following his absence and the breakdown of a proposed move to Inter Milan.

Atalanta has taken a firm stance, outlining that the player will remain on a separate training schedule until a final decision is made regarding his future—whether reintegration into the squad or a potential transfer abroad.

In line with club policy, Lookman will face financial penalties for his unauthorized absence. His monthly salary will be reduced accordingly, and he will be fined.

The club also noted that the player’s recent decision to remove all images of himself in Atalanta colors from his social media accounts has further strained the relationship.

Despite his return, the atmosphere remains tense, and the prospect of a full reintegration appears remote. Lookman had previously expressed a desire to leave the club, and rebuilding trust within the team and management will require significant effort.
