Atalanta: Lookman not for sale in January
Atalanta president Antonio Percassi says his club is not planning to listen to any offers for their Nigerian import, Ademola Lookman after the 27-year-old scored the winner in La Dea’s 2-1 defeat of Samuel Chukwueze’s AC Milan at the Gewiss Stadium in Bergamo in a Serie A match week 15 fixture.
‘Our plan is not to change anything in the January window,’ Percassi was quoted as saying by respected journalist and transfer market expert, Fabrizio Romano.
Th Nigerian has ow scored at least 10 goals for the third season in a row in the Serie A. He has also provided five assists in 17 games so far across all competitions.
The winner by Lookman ensured Atalanta equaled their record of nine wins in a row in their history in the competition.
Meanwhile, Lookman has said Atalanta players have strong belief in themselves following the win against AC Milan.
‘It’s a very important game against a very strong team that is doing well in the League. We performed well tonight, three big points and we continue like this. I think we just continue to play the way we play, match by match. We believe in ourselves as a team, so we continue like this and stay together,’ Lookman told Sky Sport Italia after the 2-1 victory.
The Nigerian who was named Man of the Match is also the hot favourite to be named African Player of the Year.
