Battle of Lausanne: Amusan seeking to stop an unwanted record vs Camacho-Quinn

It will be another battle for supremacy between Tobi Amusan, the reigning World champion and Jasmine Camacho-Quinn, the
reigning Olympic champion this Friday at the Athletissima, the sixth leg of the 2023 Diamond League meetings in Lausanne,
Switzerland barely days after both raced in Ostrava at the 62nd Golden Spikes.

It was the second time the duo has raced together this year and the Olympic champion triumphed on both ocassions but Amusan
has never lost in three straight races against the Puerto Rican and the 26 year old Nigerian will be aiming to maintain the
status quo.

On the road to the Oregon World Athletics Championships last year, both met on three ocassions with Amusan winning once (at
the Drake Relays where Camacho-Quinn failed to finish).

The Puerto Rican however won at the Prefontaine Classic and the BAUHAUS-Galana Diamond League meetings in Oregon and
Stockholm respectively.

Amusan won their next head to head meeting and it was the biggest win of her life as she made history as the first Nigerian
to win a World Championships outdoor title and the first to set a world record.

A win for Amusan may not translate to history repeating itself as both have also been confirmed to race in Silesia, Poland
where the Diamond League will make the eighth of its scheduled 14 stops.

They may also race at the Herculis in Monaco before they both head to Budapest for the World Championships.

A win will however mean a sweet revenge for the Nigerian who looks to be coming to form at the right time after running a
wind legal 12.47 to come third in Ostrava.

Amusan was second (12.45) behind Camacho-Quinn (12.34) last year at the Athletissima.
