Besiktas Coach Yalçın Hails ‘Perfect’ Ndidi in Statement Victory

Besiktas manager Sergen Yalçın reserved his highest praise for Wilfred Ndidi after the final whistle in the 4-0 demolition of Göztepe at the weeeknd, calling the Nigerian midfielder’s display ‘perfect’ and one of the finest performances the club has seen.

Yalçın emphasized that when his players fight with such commitment, even defeat would not trouble him, but on this night there was no question of losing.

Ndidi’s dominance was central to Beşiktaş’s emphatic victory.

‘There’s something you probably didn’t notice today. Ndidi played perfectly,’ Yalçın said in his post-match conference.

‘Ndidi played one of the best games we’ve ever had. When our players fight and play like this, even if we lose the match, it won’t be a problem for us. We can lose. But when we fight like this, we lose. We tell him.

‘It’s easy to tell him. But losing without doing anything is the worst thing for us. That’s why our players should fight like this. We lose, I’ll take responsibility. I’ll tell him. It’s not a problem for us.’

Since arriving from Leicester City in August 2025, Ndidi has become the anchor of Beşiktaş’s midfield, and against Göztepe he reached new heights.

He scored once, won all seven of his aerial duels, a career-best 100% success rate, and added three interceptions to his tally.
