Bilic: Troost-Ekong will be in Watford squad vs Blackpool
Watford’s new head coach Slaven Bilic says Super Eagles vice captain, Willaim Troost-Ekong will definitely be in the squad for Saturday’s game at Bloomfield Road against their host, Blackpool.
The Nigerian missed the Hornets’ last two games due to the injury he copped on international duty but he has now returned to training ahead of the trip to Blackpool.
“Troost-Ekong trained with us Friday having picked up his injury not long ago on international duty,” said Bilic.
“It wasn’t an injury that needed a long break, and so he trained yesterday. He looks good and is definitely going to be in the squad.
Troost-Ekong will be hoping to impress Bilic who replaced Rob Edwards late last month. Under Edwards, the Nigerian featured only twice in 11 Championships games.
If he plays on Saturday, it will be his 55th game across all competitions for the Hornets with 35 of the games coming in the Championships. He has also scored just once for the club.
