Bologna Vs Udinese: Okoye makes first opening league game start in a season since 2021

Maduka Okoye will be starting his first opening game of the season when his club, Udinese visit the Stadio Renato Dell’Ara Sunday evening to play their host, Bologna in their first match of the 2024/2025 Serie A season.
The Nigerian, who will wear jersey number 40, will also be starting his 22nd game in 22 Serie A games since he made his league debut for Udinese incidentally in the 3-0 defeat of Bologna at the Bluenergy Stadium last December.
The last time Okoye started in the opening league game of the season was in August 2021 when he kept a clean sheet in his Dutch Eredivise Sparta Rotterdam’s 4-0 bashing ofSparta Rotterdam.
The 24 year old will be seeking to make it another clean sheet in two games out of three against Bologna in under one year.
Meanwhile, former Nigeria U20 international, Isaac Success is not listed for the game while two other players with Nigerian names, Festy Ebosele and Kingsley Ehizibue are in the squad.
Ebosele, the Irish U21 star will be starting from the bench while Ehizibue, the former Netherlands U21 star will be making his 53rd appearance for Udiense across all competitions.
